Johnny had been busy entertaining Kerry, who was only in town for two more days, but Johnny had convinced to go enjoy a day of being a tourist on his own today. He loved the fucker, would miss him when he fucked back off to New York, but- He also could only deal with that love-sick puppy-dog gaze for so long. He needed a break- And to grab a couple of shirts he'd left at John's

"Open up, choom. I just need to grab my shit," he said as he knocked. Though it wasn't John who opened the door- It was some dinky looking twink in desperate need of a haircut.

"You're not the man who brings the fried fish," Fawn noted, tilting his head and leaning in to give Johnny a curious sniff.

"Who the actual fuck are you, and what middle school did John steal you from?" Johnny asked flatly.

"I am fawn, I don't go to school. ...I like your arm, it's shiny," the fae noted, reaching to touch it- Only to be lightly swatted away by Johnny.

"I don't know," Johnny admitted. "I don't know what the fuck I'm doing, man."

"Maybe you're here for a reason, Johnny. Your world, this world...maybe you're meant to do something," John said. It was as good a guess as any.

"Like what? What use am I here?" Johnny asked seriously. "I'm a fucking merc with a grudge against a company that doesn't even exist here."

[petty_dabbler]

"Plenty of other companies, though," he offered slyly. "There's a few real bangers. Now I'm not saying you could use what you know...I'm just saying there's more of a call for your sort than you think. Want me to make a few calls?"

John knew all kinds of people. Surely one of them would know something.

"No, I don't want to fight someone else's battle," Johnny replied. "Gotta find my own."

[petty_dabbler]

"I'd wager you're not going to have to look that hard, mate," John said sagely.

[silverhand_johnny]

"We'll see. Either I'll find a fight or I'll burn out. I'm not bothered which happens," Johnny shrugged.

[petty_dabbler]

"I can't see you burning out, mate," John replied. Johnny was too much of a presence for that.

[silverhand_johnny]

"We all fade eventually, John," he said. "Flames can't burn forever."

[petty_dabbler]

"Maybe not for you," he scoffed bitterly. "Hell's eternal, mate. And I'm in no hurry."

[silverhand_johnny]

"We're all candles, choom. We all either run out of wax or wick eventually. Even you," Johnny assured him.

[petty_dabbler]

"One day. Down the road. I've got too much to do to die," he chuckled, a touch bitter.

[silverhand_johnny]

"Yeah? And what are you doing, other than taking in waif-like strays?" Johnny asked seriously. "You good? You taking care of yourself?"

[petty_dabbler]

"To be perfectly honest, I've barely come up for air," he replied. Now that he thought about it, since Fawn had arrived he hadn't done much. Oh, he hit up his contacts, read the news, looked into things...

But mostly he'd been caught up in a whirlwind of desire and fish.

"Since Fawn arrived, things have been...busy."

He didn't think for even a second he might be under some spell or something. Fawn wasn't like that.

"...Right, that's not weird," Johnny replied.

[petty_dabbler]

"Did you see him? Can you blame me?" he asked with a smug bit of a grin. "It's kind of nice to feel irresistible."

[silverhand_johnny]

"Yeah, I saw him you dirty old fuck," Johnny snorted.

[petty_dabbler]

"Hey now. Mr. dirty old fuck to the likes of you," he chuckled. He couldn't argue. Johnny was right.

[silverhand_johnny]

"How old is he anyway? He's so damn short," Johnny noted.

[petty_dabbler]

"Young for a faerie but probably older than I am," he shrugged. "Who knows. They're all forever young and beautiful."

[silverhand_johnny]

"You're not worried you'll snap him in half?" Johnny asked, pulling a face.

[petty_dabbler]

"He's a lot stronger than he looks, and I'm trying to get him not to scratch and bite..."

He took another sip.

"He's wild. He was around people, sometimes, but...hmm. He can defend himself."

[silverhand_johnny]

"Your life is fucking weird, choom," Johnny replied simply.

[petty_dabbler]

"Don't I know it," he snorted. "And the cherry on top is there's something coming. Something from below. And that's all I've got to go on."

"You know, I'm no quitter, but you could say fuck it and run of to Hawaii with your twink and just let London burn, man."
